On the edge - art therapy as inspiration for art education

This bachelor's thesis named : On the Edge-Art Therapy as an Inspi rati on for Art Educati on, focuses on activities and approache s which are typical for art therapy and views them through the lens of an art teacher . The theoretical part of th is thesis focuses on education: it defines the go als of education, and the rol es and competencies of a teacher. It also focuses on the specifications of the education area of Arts and culture. This knowledge is then co mpared with the concept of art therapy. The thesis names the basic objectives of this discipline and lists t he main approaches and methods used in this field. Based on these definitions, the text summarises the fundamental differences between educational and therapeutic work and researches it s analogies . Additionally, the thesis provides us with examples o f specific activities and alters them for educational needs in the form o f a brief manual. This manual contains five activities that could function as an inspiration for art teachers. The didactics of this thesis o ffers a reflection and feedback on two select ed activities that were put to the test in the 4th grade of elementary school. Teacher and his role in the process of pupil's self-conception forming

Theoretical and empirical thesis "Teacher and his role in the process of pupil's self- conception forming" aims to explore the theme of self-conception from the perspective of those involved in the educational process. Primarily in terms of personal and social development, whose major component is the development of self-conception of pupil. The thesis explores the possibilities and limits of teaching experience and tries to find some starting points and recommendations that can help teachers better manage claims that contemporary society places on education of children. It also seeks to give teachers a tool that would simply and effectively determine the level of their work on self-development of their pupils.

Personal and social education as part of further education of kindergarten teachers

This thesis deals with the personal and social development of preschool teachers as one of the possibilities for their further education. The theoretical part describes the current available types of professional competencies of current preschool teachers and focuses on their professional development through personal and social education (PSE). The aim of the empirical part is to create, implement and reflect short-term practical training for kindergarten teachers in selected topics of personal and social education through a form of action research. Selected topics (issue of rules in kindergarten, communication and mental hygiene) came from a questionnaire of interest in education issues of PSE. The aim of the course is skills training and improving of professional competence of teachers in selected areas through self-experience activities. Also the course leads teachers to think about appropriate solutions of problematic educational situations through joint discussion, sharing of professional experiences, reflection and self-reflection of teachers. The secondary purpose is to show the topics from the view of teachers' working with children and to link them with key competencies for preschool education, educational areas and expected outcomes of the national curriculum Framework Educational Program...
Personal and social development of pupil in music education at primary school

The diploma thesis focuses on the topic of personal and social development of pupils in the music education process at the 1st level of basic education. It brings forward selected music therapy techniques, which represent one of the means of personal and social education. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the concept of personal and social education with a brief history of the issue. It represents the position of personal and social education in curricular documents. The practical part of the work presents regular teaching of music lessons at the Dolní Břežany Elementary school. The research part also includes activities with emotional cards. The diploma thesis offers a possible connection of communication cards with listening to selected songs, in order to briefly diagnose the research sample. The chosen music therapy techniques are applied to the pupils of the 1st grade, which represents a significant milestone in the transition from kindergarten to primary school. International volunteering and its role in the professional, personal and social development

This diploma thesis investigates international volunteering in the context of professional, personal and social development of young volunteers. In the theoretical part, definition, history, forms and subjects involved are presented, together with the impacts and ethical questions related to the field. Next, the professional, personal and social development is defined and international volunteering is put in light as a source of important skills. The empirical part is concerned with one specific form of international volunteering - workcamps. Firstly, organisation INEX-SDA, which sends hundreds of youngsters to workcamps each year, is introduced. Next, methodology and results of an original qualitative research focused on the role of workcamps in workcamp-participants' lifes are discussed. The results suggest that workcamps have various impacts on and connectedness with the participants' development, the professional as well as the personal and social. By some, the workcamp's impact on their life and development is perceived as subtle, while others see significant effects, workcamps had on their life and skills.
